Disabled parking bay terms and conditions
Disabled bays are for disabled residents
Disabled parking bays are provided to assist with the mobility of the disabled applicant, and not for the convenience of their spouse, partner, carer or other able-bodied family member.
In fairness to other residents, a bay will not be provided in circumstances where it will remain predominantly empty. For this reason, the Council does not provide disabled parking bays for use by medical workers, ambulances, Dial-a-Ride vehicles, taxis or other visitors attending the needs of the disabled person.
Disabled parking bays cannot be allocated exclusively for the use of the disabled applicant, but may be used by any vehicle displaying a valid Blue Badge and complying with the European Blue Badge Scheme.
Enforcement out of hours
Disabled parking bays are meant for use by Blue Badge holders at any time.
Enforcement outside the working day, 7am to 7pm, will be subject to the availability of enforcement staff on borough-wide patrols. In the event of a non-badge-holder parking in a disabled bay, please contact the Parking Enforcement team on 020 8760 1966.
If you no longer need a bay
If a disabled parking bay is provided and you subsequently find that you no longer need it, you must inform the council immediately.
Review and removal
Disabled parking bays are reviewed frequently, and if they are considered to be no longer necessary due to changed circumstances, or are reported to be unused, then they may be removed.
