Dementia friendly borough
Croydon's dementia strategic plan
Croydon’s new Dementia strategic plan clearly outlines how we will deliver better care and support to people living with dementia, and their carers, so that they can lead full and active lives. The plan will fulfil the pledges made to achieve the borough’s Dementia friendly status.
The plan has been developed by Croydon’s Dementia Action Alliance; the alliance includes:
- Croydon Council
- Age UK Croydon,
- local health and social care services
- emergency services
- the voluntary sector
They work in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society, the UK’s leading dementia charity, and people affected by dementia to make the borough more inclusive for more than 3,500 people estimated to be living with the condition.
The Alliance and the Croydon Dementia Steering Group, senior representatives from commissioning and provider organisations, will monitor the progress of the plan.
