We are reviewing the polling districts and places for use in future elections.
We welcome comments from any registered elector on the existing and proposed arrangements. If possible your comments should include suggestions of alternative venues for polling places.
We'd also like to hear from or any person or body with expertise in access for persons with any type of disability.
Consultation will run from Monday 5 August to Monday 2 September 2019.
You can submit your comments via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by post to Seth Alker, Head of Electoral Services, Croydon Council, Town Hall, Katharine Street, Croydon, CR9 1DE. Comments must reach us no later than 2 September.
All comments received will made publicly available at the end of the review. No personal information such as name, address or email, will be published.
Why are we consulting?
In agreement with the requirements of the Representation of the People Act 1983, and the Electoral Administration Act 2013, we must divide the parliamentary constituencies in Croydon into geographical areas, called polling districts assign polling places and polling stations to each district.
We have to do this by February 2020.
Polling district review document and map
The (Acting) Returning Officer, Jo Negrini, published a report on the current arrangements. This report also includes proposed changes for future arrangements. You can read a summary of the report here or download the full version below.
You can also view a map of the current polling districts. The map includes the number of properties and electors in each polling district.
Proposed changes to the existing polling districts and polling places must be agreed at the Full Council meeting, and implemented by 1 February 2020.
