Electoral reviews in Croydon, including reviews of polling districts, polling places and parliamentary constituencies.
In accordance with the requirements of the Representation of the People Act 1983, and the Electoral Administration Act 2013, Croydon Council carried out a review of polling districts and polling places that are used at parliamentary elections. The (Acting) Returning Officer published initial proposals for changes to the existing polling districts and polling places and there followed a public consultation on these.
Following consideration of all responses, final proposals for polling places and polling districts were produced and approved at the Full Council meeting on 27 January 2020. The changes came into effect on 1 February 2020. The revised scheme of polling stations and polling places will be used at future national and local elections and referendums. The report allows for the Returning Officer to find alternative polling places without further approval by Council should they be necessary.
