Claimant representatives, insurance claim payments FOI dataset and claimant in person.
Three sheets are presented:
Please refer to this sheet first for an explanation of each data fields presented with a key to any acronyms. All data is sourced from the Council’s Insurance Management System JCAD LACHS.
These are details of every payment made to a third party under the headings of Public Liability, Employer Liability and Third Party Motor claims in the period 1 January 2007 to 8 March 2019. Because an individual claim may have multiple payments made against it, details of each individual payment are itemised. These payments include third party legal costs and the council's own legal costs as well as the actual compensation amount received by the claimant. The payment history includes all claims where payments were made in the period listed irrespective of the incident date. (Please note- there may be some data that shows a small Own Solicitor Cost, where the Council have instructed a Solicitor to defend a claim successfully but with a cost to the Council).
This sheet details every claim closed during the period 1 January 2007 to 8 March 2019 under the headings of Public Liability, Employer Liability and Motor Third Party claims where no payments of any description were made either to the Third Party or incurred by Croydon Council. I.e. these claims have been repudiated and settled at no cost to the authority. The amount saved is listed under the 'highest estimate column'.
