Croydon community covenant 2025
We were the first London borough to sign a community covenant; a pledge of commitment to our local armed forces population, those in service, reservists, veterans and their families.
On Armistice Day, Tuesday 11 November 2025, Executive Mayor Jason Perry reaffirmed our support for the Armed Forces by re-signing the latest Armed Forces Covenant. The Covenant was co-signed by Major Andrew Church of the 71st (City of London) Yeomanry Signal Regiment, on behalf of the Ministry of Defence.
To demonstrate our ongoing commitment, we have reinstated the Croydon Armed Forces Community Covenant Group, which reconvened in October 2025 and will now meet twice a year to oversee and advance covenant priorities.
Attendees included:
- The Executive Mayor of Croydon
- The Civic Mayor of Croydon
- armed forces advocates
- The Deputy Lord Lieutenant
- councillors
- senior council department leads
- emergency services
- NHS Trust Representatives
- charities
- representatives from local armed forces regiments and cadet groups
