Children's hospices provide respite and terminal care for children suffering from life-limiting conditions.
Children's hospices provide respite and terminal care for children suffering from life-limiting conditions in a home-from-home environment. Care is provided for the child and their family at no cost to them for as long as is necessary. Post bereavement support is also available.
Children living in Croydon with a Croydon GP who have a life-limiting condition and palliative care needs can be referred for NHS continuing care funding and services.
Children with life-limiting conditions may receive hospice care via Chase in Guildford or other organisations, eg Rainbow Trust.
Croydon Primary Care Trust has two support workers to support children with life limiting conditions, as well as a bereavement support worker.
Croydon Crossroads has developed a new service in conjunction with MacMillan for support to carers who are caring for a terminally ill child or adult.
The children with disabilities service provides a range of support services to disabled children which can include children with life-limiting conditions. Services include domiciliary care, home-based short breaks, direct payments and funding of other suitable resources to provide breaks.
