We recommend that you pay your business rates by direct debit because it is the easiest way. It is also the only payment method that gives you a choice of payment dates - choose to pay on the 1st, 5th, 15th and 25th of the month. You must pay by the 5th of the month for all other payment methods.
If you pay by direct debit you also have the option of spreading the instalments until the end of the current financial year.
You must complete a new form if you want to change your bank details.
Payments by credit or debit card
You can pay your business rates online.
You can make a credit or debit card payment by calling 0345 3000 614 and selecting option 8. If you use this method, you will not be sent a receipt. Instead you will be issued a reference number. We recommend that you keep note of this number along with the time and date you made the payment, the amount you paid and your Business Rates account number in case you need to contact us.
Remember to have your business rate account reference number ready when you phone.
To pay by BACS (Bankers Automated Clearing System) you must quote the following details:

To pay by CHAPS (Clearing House Automated Payments Services) you must quote the following details:

Internet and telephone banking
When paying by this method, quote sort code 57-10-70, bank account number 01000624 and 24/your account reference (as shown on your business rate bill).
At PayPoint outlets
You can pay your business rates by cash only at any outlet displaying the PayPoint logo. To make payment you will need your business rate payment slip, which will be printed with a barcode.
