When we ask you to pay back an overpayment, we will:

• send you an invoice and ask you to repay the amount
• take weekly deductions from your Housing Benefit payments, which will vary depending on your circumstances

If you feel the weekly deductions are causing you extreme hardship, you can contact us to request lowering your deductions.

Repaying an invoice in one payment

If you are struggling to pay the full invoice amount in one go, you can contact us. We will try to make arrangement which you can afford.
