Wandle Park reopened on 22 December 2012 following work on the restoration of the River Wandle, which was broken out from a concrete culvert beneath the park. The park improvement works also provides a new outdoor gym, skate park and ball court area, restored rose garden, pond and bandstand and a new grand lawn.
In addition to these improvements a new playground will open in the spring with the new pavilion café and toilets to open in time for summer 2013.
Access to the facilities from Cornwall Road carpark remains closed; however all other entrances are opened.
