Term time and holiday dates for Croydon schools.

These term dates apply to most Croydon local authority schools. Some schools have different holiday and term dates, in particular, voluntary aided schools. Check the schools websites for confirmed dates.

Term dates 2025 to 2026

School terms and holiday dates are shown here for the school year beginning in September 2025. These dates apply to all community nursery, primary, secondary and special schools. 

In 2025/26 pupils should attend for 190 days (or 380 half sessions). 

Schools which close for local elections are required to extend the summer term or coincide it with an 'inset' day. 

Academies, free and voluntary aided schools have similar dates, but it is recommended that you check with individual schools. 

The following dates include 5 inset days.

Term 1: Monday 1 September to Friday 24 October

  • Half-term holiday: Monday 27 October to Friday 31 October.

Term 2: Monday 3 November to Friday 19 December

  • Christmas and New Year holiday: Monday 22 December to Friday 2 January.

Term 3: Monday 5 January to Friday 13 February

  • Half-term holiday: Monday 16 February to Friday 20 February.

Term 4: Monday 23 February to Friday 27 March 

  • Easter holiday: Monday 30 March to Friday 10 April.

Term 5: Monday 13 April to Friday 22 May (except May Day bank holiday on 4 May)

  • Half-term holiday: Monday 25 May to Friday 29 May (spring bank holiday on 25 May).

Term 6: Monday 1 June to Monday 20 July

Most schools also have 5 training (inset) days in each academic year when pupils don't need to attend. Check with individual schools for these dates.

Other reasons for schools not being open

Schools may close for various reasons including bad weather.
