We’ve partnered up with Repowering London to create opportunities for Croydon residents’ to lead and deliver renewable energy projects to reduce the borough’s carbon footprint, and create community funds for supporting local initiatives.
Repowering London is a not-for-profit organisation that specialises in empowering communities to own and generate their own renewable energy using solar panels to convert the energy of the sun into clean renewable electricity.
All profits from the scheme go straight to the community who get to choose how the money is spent. Croydon young people will also benefit through internship opportunities.
Repowering London has delivered a number of successful renewable energy projects across London including the Banister House solar installation in Hackney, which is set to generate £28,000 towards its community fund over the 20-year life of the project.
