London Borough of Croydon

Public Square

In order to find out what residents have to say about New Addington’s next phase of regeneration, there will be a number of community engagements events held during September.

There will be a council presence both in the indoor and outdoor market areas, as well as on the Fun Day event on the 22 September where members of the public can find out more information about the ongoing work on the New Addington Leisure Centre, the new school at the Timebridge and Family Centre site and other regeneration projects.

Croydon Council is now beginning to explore future opportunities for the area, including a potential new wellbeing centre, improved green space in front of the new leisure centre.

The wellbeing centre could include moving the New Addington library and the existing CALAT (Croydon Adult Learning and Training) facility to a new fit-for-purpose building, which could include a café and community space. Discussions are continuing between the council and the NHS to include space for GP surgeries and community health as part of the proposals.
