Electrical supply problems

If you are reliant on electricity for medical equipment, or have other special needs have particular problems in a power cut, you can register on the UK Power Networks Priority Services Register. It is open to anyone who is:

  • Dependent on electricity for medical equipment such as oxygen/nebuliser/dialysis/ apnoea/bed bath hoist/chair stair lift
  • Chronically sick/disabled such as: blind/deaf/speech difficulties/ mobility problems
  • A special case that we should consider

Water supply problems

Some people are more vulnerable to a sudden loss of water supply. This could be due to a medical need (such as having a dialysis machine at home) or mobility problems (having problems getting to a stand-pipe or replacement water-tanker in the street).

If you think that you could have a particular need in such circumstances, you can register for the Extra Care Service from Thames Water.
