Free cycling opportunities for people in Croydon of all ages and abilities

Starting in June and running until October, Sky Ride Local bike rides are taking place across the borough every fortnight. These fun-filled free rides are guided by friendly British Cycling Ride Leaders along scenic planned routes.

With different levels, there's something for everyone - whether you're building your confidence or already comfortable on a bike and looking for a challenge. Rides are all free and are grouped in levels to suit everyone from beginners to experienced cyclists. Whichever you choose, you'll be riding on safe routes, in good company. Free gifts are also available for children aged 5 to 12 years who register and take part in up to three rides.

Places must be booked in advance. To join, start by visiting Sky Ride  to find a Croydon ride that matches your ability. Then register yourself, your family and friends to ensure your places. You'll also find information on Breeze - women only bike rides, and British Cycling's Social Cycling Groups.

Ride Strong Plus rides

If you've been riding a road bike for a while, and thinking about joining a cycling club, these rides are for you. A speedy pace over twenty to fifty miles, with the strong likelihood of some hills along the way, means the Ride Strong Plus rides are not for the faint-hearted. Ride Strong Plus rides are for adults only.

For more information and ride dates visit the goskyride webpage to search for Croydon rides.

Sky Ride Local is also looking for confident recreational cyclists to train as Ride Leaders. You don't need to be a cycling expert, just be confident riding in groups and have heaps of enthusiasm.
