Our display boards are available for use free of charge to advertise your club or society.

Children's events

We run the following free drop-in events for young children:

  • Bookstart Rhymetime: Fridays 10am to 10:30am (babies and toddlers)
  • fortnightly Saturday craft workshops for 4 years and over from 2:30pm to 4pm, contact the library for details of dates and topics
  • Book Buddies: Enjoy stories, colouring and crafts for children under 7, every Monday, 4pm to 4:30pm

Adult reading group

Our adult reading group takes place on the second or third Thursday in the month and runs between 6pm and 7pm. Contact the library for details of dates and the book being discussed.

Adult activities

  • knitting, stitching and crochet group every Friday, 2:30pm to 4:30pm
  • craft workshops, monthly on a Tuesday, 2:30pm to 4:30pm
  • free monthly author talks

  • first Thursday of every month from 2:30pm to 4:30pm, free 30 minute sessions with nutritionist Elke Westerkamp, BSC and MSC in the science of nutrition, contact Shirley to reserve a place.
  • monthly games club including scrabble, backgammon and other games in a sociable meeting on the last Thursday of every month from 2.30pm to 4.30pm

Computer sessions for beginners

One-to-one sessions for computer beginners and those looking to learn something new are offered by our friendly and knowledgeable volunteers, on Monday mornings and Thursday afternoons.

Contact the library for further details and slots. Sessions are subject to the availability of our IT volunteers, and may need to be changed at short notice.
