Children's events

We run the following free drop-in events for young children from all year round.

  • Storytime: Tuesdays 10.30an to 11am
  • Rhymetime: Fridays 10.30am to 11am
  • Rock and rhyme: Saturdays 10.30am to 11am

Chess mates

Come along for a game of chess. New players of any level are welcome.

Free. Advance booking required, every Friday from 2pm.

Reading groups

The library has three adult reading groups:

  • the third Thursday of every month at 11am
  • the last Thursday of the month at 11am
  • the first Saturday of each month at 2:30pm

Crochet group

Selsdon Library has crochet group for adults meeting every Thursday afternoon from 2pm to 4pm. New members of all abilities welcome. Please bring your own wool/hooks.

Free, no booking required.

Digital zone

If you would like to learn about using computers, book a free session to help you begin. You will learn basic skills such as using a mouse and keyboard, finding your way around the internet and opening up an email or Facebook account. We can also use these sessions to help you apply for/renew items such as your Freedom Pass/Oyster Card/Blue Badge etc. Our IT sessions are one-to-one hour long sessions and take place during the following times:

Saturdays from 1pm to 2pm and 2pm to 3pm 

These sessions are always popular so advanced booking is required. Contact the library or ask a member of staff to book one.

Display boards

Our display boards are available for use free of charge to advertise your club or society.

Food waste bags

Food waste bags are £5.99 for 100 and can be bought at all Croydon libraries.
