Housing Moves is a Mayor of London's scheme to enable council and housing associations tenants relocate to different parts of London. All council and housing association tenants can apply, as long as they have a secure council tenancy or an assured housing association tenancy.

The scheme is giving priority to tenants who are moving for the following reasons:

  • looking for a smaller home
  • moving to be closer to work or college
  • or want to be closer to family or friends, maybe to provide care or support

Housing Moves is a choice based lettings scheme. This means that once a tenant has registered, they can see details of all available properties on the your moves website and can express an interest in the properties that suit them.

The Housing Moves scheme is separate to our Croydon housing register, so if you are interested you will need to apply directly to Housing Moves rather than contacting your landlord or Croydon council. Your application will be checked by your landlord before you can express an interest in properties advertised on this scheme.

For under-occupying tenants of Croydon council that successfully move using this scheme, you may still be entitled to the cash incentive and removal costs.

Find out more about the scheme at www.housingmoves.org or contact the housing mobility team.
