On Monday 4 September Ofsted published their report on our services for children in need of help and protection, children looked after and care leavers and rated our Children’s Services as inadequate.
We fully accepted the findings and are taking responsibility for delivering the improvements we need to make. Ofsted recognised that we were improving standards but the pace of change wasn’t quick enough.
The Children's Improvement Plan

report findings, including the 21 specific recommendations, and in recognition of our ambition to improve our services for vulnerable children. It
