Croydon Sexual Health Centre has limited telephone consultations for urgent emergencies only. Please call 0208 401 3766 if you have a sexual health related emergency and need to speak to a clinician.
There is currently no walk-in service. Only attend the clinic if a member of staff tells you to. It is open only to emergency patients at these times:
- 8:30am to 5pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
- 10:30am to 5pm Wednesday
Contraception
Online contraception appointments are available to speak with a contraceptive nurse and to order certain pills. You can book through the Croydon Health Service website.
Oral contraception is also available through your GP.
Emergency hormonal contraception
Emergency Hormonal Contraception (the morning after pill) should be taken within 3 days (72 hours) of unprotected sex, but is more effective if taken as soon as possible. Sometimes emergency contraception can be given up to 5 days (120 hours) after unprotected sex, so always ask if needed.
Emergency contraception does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.
Emergency contraception can be bought at pharmacies throughout Croydon and is free of charge, as part of the Enhanced Sexual Health Pharmacy service for women under 21.
Free emergency contraception is available at Croydon Health Service. Call 0208 401 3766 to book a telephone appointment with a contraceptive nurse.
