There are a number of initiatives that the Croydon Head Teachers Association (CHTA) have introduced to ensure that Croydon is a destination of choice:

1. Returning to Teaching – for Primary Qualified Teachers

Date: 4/5 June 2019
Venue: STEP Gonville Primary Academy, Gonville Road, Croydon, CR7 6DL

Are you:

  • a qualified teacher thinking about returning to the classroom and interested in teaching in a primary school?
  • getting ready to teach after a career break?
  • preparing to apply for teaching jobs and wanting to demonstrate that your knowledge and skills are up to date?
  • keen to do well in interview and increase your chances of obtaining a teaching post?

If you have previously qualified as a teacher and are thinking of moving back into the classroom, Octavo Partnership and the STEP Academy Trust has developed a quality programme to support you and to help build up your confidence to return to teaching.

The new Return to Teaching Programme will provide you with:

  • an overview of recent changes in education
  • practical guidance about new expectations in schools
  • an overview of statutory assessment requirements
  • opportunities for classroom observations
  • a network of people in a similar position to yourself
