London Borough of Croydon

Options when you’re 16

The law states you must stay in education or training until you’re 18. There are 3 different ways you can do this:

Study full time

Making choices about the future can feel quite daunting, but it doesn’t have to be.  Our Croydon Young Persons website offers advice as well as a link to the Croydon Post 16 Prospectus, which details course and training information for local 6th forms, colleges and training providers in or within easy reach of Croydon.

Please note the application form can be printed.

Our Steps to Success opportunities newsletter may also be of use to you.

Get a job

Our job brokerage service, Croydon Works offers a free recruitment service for Croydon residents.

Earn while you learn

An apprenticeship or traineeship lets you learn skills and get paid. Our monthly Steps to Success bulletin has the latest opportunities.

Having difficulties with these options?
