London Borough of Croydon

The Mayor is keen to support in whatever way he can the widest possible range of organisations that contribute to the wellbeing of Croydon. He is always pleased to hear from community and charity groups, carer organisations, schools, youth groups, musical, theatrical and art clubs, religious bodies - also about individuals who have particular achievements to celebrate, 100th birthdays and the like.

He will try personally to get to as many of these events as possible. If engagements clash, he will try to arrange for his Deputy to attend instead.

Where appropriate he will be happy to invite individuals and small groups to meet him in the Town Hall and the Mayor's Parlour.

If you would like to invite the Mayor to your event you need to write to or email the Mayor and include the following information:

  • Date and time of event/function.
  • Title of event and venue.
  • Information about the event/function including what you would like the Mayor to do.
  • Information about yourself if not already known to us.

The Mayor has lots of invitations so it is essential you give as much notice as possible but not less the ten working days prior to the date of your event.

Once received by the Mayoral office your invitation will be passed to the Mayor at his weekly engagement meeting.  You will receive a reply from the Mayoral office after this meeting.

Assuming the Mayor/Deputy Mayor can attend your event/function, you will be sent some Protocol Notes together with an Event Pro Forma which will need to be completed and returned to the Mayoral office no later than two weeks before your event.
