LGBT History Month is celebrated in February
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans History Month is celebrated in February each year. It celebrates the lives and achievements of the LGBT community in the UK. LGBT History Month also aims to promote tolerance and raise awareness of the prejudices faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.
Each year has a different theme. In 2017 we will look at Citizenship, PSHE and Law as we mark the 50th anniversary of the partial decriminalisation of male homosexuality in England and Wales.
The LGBT+ Allies network group has a display in the 8th floor happy Café for all of February in Bernard Weatherill House. The LGBT community group has a display in Croydon Library for February.
Please see attached LGBT History month leaflet for 2017 with lots of events which we hope you will support and enjoy.
