London Borough of Croydon

Croydon has one of the largest populations of under 25's in London and we are keen to see more cultural projects, programmes and events taking place in the borough by and for young people. There are 4 strands to the fund:

1.    Youth Arts Fund – Organisation grants

Grants of up to £7.500 are available for projects where young people (under 25) are actively involved in the development, leadership and delivery of your project. Priority will be given for projects involving young people not previously involved with the arts and from disadvantaged groups and to projects that increase access and participation. There is no specific requirement for partnership funding but we would expect not to be the sole funder.

Applicants are encouraged to discuss their applications in advance with either Paula Murray paula.murray@croydon.gov.uk or Paul Hudson paul.hudson@croydon.gov.uk

Applications should be submitted a minimum of 6 weeks before the start date of the project. Retrospective awards will not be made.
Organisations must be non-profit and be at least informally constituted which means having a bank account in the name of the group with at least 2 signatories. Individuals are not eligible to apply.

2.    Youth Arts Fund – individual grants

Grants of up to £2,000 are available for the development of new ideas and projects by young people (under 25). Priority will be given for projects that are not easily funded by other grant schemes, that explore new ways of engaging young people and that expand audiences for music, dance, film and performance in Croydon. There is no requirement for partnership funding and individuals are eligible to apply. Applicants must be resident, studying or working in Croydon

Applicants are encouraged to discuss their applications in advance with Isabel Bianchini Isabel.Bianchini@croydon.gov.uk
Applications should be submitted a minimum of 4 weeks before the start date of the project. Retrospective awards will not be made.

3.    Youth Arts Fund - Partnership Funding

Grants of up to £7,500 for match funding to support bids to other funders eg Arts Council England and the Big Lottery. Match funding is generally around 25% but can be up to 50%. Funds are only available to support projects that are bringing in other funding to the borough and are ultimately dependent on that funding being confirmed.

Applicants are encouraged to discuss their applications in advance with either Paula Murray paula.murray@croydon.gov.uk or Paul Hudson paul.hudson@croydon.gov.uk
