Family Transitions: co-parenting support for separated or divorced parents and carers

Family Transitions assists parents who need extra support to adjust and manage the transition from a two-parent to a single-parent family. It focuses on skills to resolve conflicts with former partners, how to cope positively with stress and how to co-parent post separation.

Due to the nature of the group, we ask that parents do not attend the same group as their ex-partners.

This service is for:

  • Parents and carers of children aged 0 to 18 who are separated or divorced

What you'll get out of it:

The Family Transitions programme will help you:

  • improve your personal coping skills in managing transition through separation or divorce, and managing your own levels of personal distress
  • improve your communication with your ex-partner about co-parenting issues
  • help your child cope with the impact of separation and divorce, improving your relationship and supporting your child’s emotional well-being
