In response to the flooding that took place between December 2013 and March 2014, the government has announced a new support fund in the form of a Repair and Renew Grant (RRG) to help homeowners and businesses that experienced internal flooding and/or flooding to septic tanks. You can claim up to a maximum of £5,000, which includes VAT and any professional fees incurred.
We are administering the scheme on behalf of the Department for Communities and Local Government. Please note that this grant is only available to install flood resilience measures over and above any remedial works claimed from insurers.

Deadlines for the Council to submit claims for reimbursement of grant costs are:
- for claims relating to properties flooded between 1 December 2013 and 31 March 2014 (the original scheme dates) the new deadline is 30 June 2015
- for claims relating to properties flooded between 1 April and 30 November 2013 (the extended scheme dates) the deadline is 30 September 2015
