The Personal Road Collision and Casualty Summary for Croydon 1996-2005 is now available. Some of the findings are:
Road casualty rates and injuries
- There were 1,141 road traffic collisions in Croydon in 2005. The total number of casualties for the year was 1,412.
- Road casualties have remained fairly constant between 1996 and 2005, with a gradual decline since 2000.
- Serious and slight injuries resulting from road traffic collisions have declined over the last few years, with a gradual reduction in the number of fatalities since 2003.
Causation factors
Causation factors are not shown this year due to a change in the way they are collected. However, we hope to include them next year to give a fuller picture of why collisions occur.
