Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPGs)

Supplementary Planning Guidances (SPGs) were prepared under the old planning system to provide further guidance to Croydon's Unitary Development Plan (UDP). The Local Development Framework (LDF) is being prepared to replace the UDP as the main collection of planning policy documents for the council. SPGs which have not been replaced by Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) continue to provide guidance for developers and landowners.

Planning Guidance Note 1 (PGN1) Planning Obligations is also available below, this supplements information in the Unitary Development Plan (UDP). SPGs 2 and 3 have been superceeded by Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) 2 - Residential Extensions and Alterations, which can be downloaded from the SPDs section of this website.

With the exception of SPG 11, all SPGs are free and cover a wide range of developments, detailed below.
