Supplementary Planning Documents - SPDs (Adopted)

The following Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) have been produced and adopted by the Council.

Residential Extensions and Residential Alterations

An SPD for Residential Extensions and Alterations has been produced to ensure that extensions and alterations made to residential buildings in Croydon are of the very highest design quality. This will replace all existing Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG).

The SPD was adopted by the UDP sub and cabinet committee on 6 December 2006.

Local List

We have also produced a revised Local List of approximately 1,000 buildings which, although not of sufficient quality to merit statutory listing, are of local significance and make a valuable contribution to Croydon's townscape.

The SPD was adopted by the UDP sub and cabinet committee on 6 December 2006.

Designing for Community Safety

Designing for Community Safety sets out guidelines on how to approach the design of developments and external spaces to make the borough a safer and better place in which to live, work and play.

The SPD was adopted by the UDP sub and cabinet committee on 7 February 2007.

Conservation Area Appraisals

The Council have produced two Conservation Area Appraisals and Management Plans for South Norwood and the Webb Estate & Upper Woodcote Village. The documents are Supplementary Planning Documents and assess the character of the areas and include design guidelines and management proposals. Boundary changes have been assessed and changes made. The adopted documents are available below:
