How to submit an application

We recommend that you submit your application online via the Planning Portal - Online Application associated link, which allows you to send your application directly to us. You can even buy site maps and attach supporting documents and drawings.

The Planning Portal has been designed to answer all your questions and guide you towards making a successful planning application.

You'll also get notification by email informing you that your application has been received. And by creating a login account the portal remembers your details, which makes it even easier to submit additional applications.

Downloadable forms, fees and guidance notes

Application forms, fees and explanatory guidance notes are available from the Planning and Building Control Desk at Access Croydon in Taberner House or by phoning Planning Control (details below). Most forms can be downloaded via the Downloadable planning applications forms 'see also' link. Please read the checklist and notes before submitting your application.

A fee will need to be included with most applications. Fee scales are set nationally and periodically reviewed. The current fees charged for planning, advertisement and other types of planning application are available from the Planning and Regeneration department. A fees list and notes are also downloadable via the 'see also' link.

A site plan showing the boundaries of the site edged in red must be submitted with your application. This can be supplied by the council under a scheme authorised by the Ordnance Survey.

You will need six copies of the relevent O.S. map (scale 1:1250), which can be ordered by contacting Planning Control or visiting Access Croydon. The cost is £25* and cheques should be made payable to the London Borough of Croydon.
