The Unitary Development Plan (UDP)

UDP Policies Saved as of 13 July 2009

On 10 July 2009 the Government Office of London issued a Direction at to which UDP policies are extended beyond the life of the 2006 adopted UDP. These "saved" policies are listed in the Schedule. (See attached letter which lists the policies)

Since 1991, all planning applications and appeals have to be determined in accordance with the development plan, unless material considerations indicate otherwise.

The Council's development plan is the London Plan and also Croydon's Replacement Unitary Development Plan 2006 as amended by the Government Office of London's Direction Schedule dated 10 July 2009. Any UDP policy not listed in the Schedule no longer existed as of 13 July 2009.

The UDP consists of a Written Statement and an interactive Proposals Map.

About the Written Statement

The Written Statement sets out the council's policies and proposals for the development and use of land and provides an explanation for them.

Please note that the boundaries of the Conservation Areas shown are correct at time of adoption of the UDP (13 July 2006).  Conservation Areas may be subject to review and alteration and new conservation areas can also be designated at any time under the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Act) 1990.  For further information on Conservation Areas please contact the Urban Design Team.
