Proposed submission core strategy and proposals map Sept 2011

Proposed Submission Core Strategy and Proposals Map (Regulation 27)

The Proposed Submission Core Strategy and Proposals Map follows on from last year's consultations on the Core Strategy - 'Towards a preferred Core Strategy' (February 2010) and its Supplement (September 2010), and the initial report on issues and options, 'Imagine Croydon', consulted on in 2009.

The Core Strategy will provide the basis for the development of Croydon up to 2031, with particular reference to the borough's sixteen places, new homes, jobs and the overall environment. The Proposals Map sets out Core Strategy policy spatially.

The Proposed Submission Core Strategy is the final version before submission to a government appointed Planning Inspector for consideration. The Planning Inspector will conduct an 'Examination in Public' to determine whether the Core Strategy is 'sound' for adoption. Provided the Core Strategy is found sound and once adopted, the Core Strategy will become part of the Local Development Framework.

The Council has also published a 'Statement of Participation' report setting out full details of the consultation process and responses to previous comments received on the three previous consultations on the Core Strategy. The Sustainability Appraisal report that accompanies the Proposed Submission Core Strategy is available below. The Infrastructure Delivery Plan provides the information on how the supporting infrastructure for the growth can be delivered - view or download the Infrastructure Delivery Plan below. The Evidence base for the Proposed Submission Core Strategy can be viewed here.

Consultation on the Proposed Submission Core Strategy and Proposals Map has now closed.
