A National Standard planning application form, known as "1APP", has been created by the government to streamline the planning system across England and Wales to make it easier for applicants.
By April 2008 every planning authority in England and Wales will only accept the 1APP form, either online or in paper format.
The form will be used for all types of planning applications and will help to deliver greater transparency, consistency and efficiency.
We started using the 1APP form on Friday 29 February 2008 and from 7 April 2008 we only accepted planning applications made on the 1APP form.
