Children, young people and families living and visiting Croydon can enjoy and experience more play opportunities in the newly developed play spaces that have been installed across the borough.
Having been awarded funding from Big Lottery for the Croydon 'Play 4 All' programme 2007-2010 and playbuilder funding from the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) 2008-2011, Croydon has developed new play spaces and made improvements to some existing play areas.
A lot of consultation work with children and young people has been carried out regarding the type of play they would like to see in their local play spaces. They have contributed really well in expressing what they consider 'play' to be, what some of their favourite 'play' experiences are and what 'play' experiences they would like to have.
