- Services for teachers

We would like you and your class to make the most of your visit to the Museum of Croydon's galleries. To support your visit we offer the following services.
Individual or group planning appointments
If you would like to be shown around the galleries and talk through your visit in advance, contact us to arrange a time to meet with us.
See the Croydon Clocktower group visits page for further information about visiting the galleries with a group.
Education Evenings
These are informal opportunities to see the latest exhibition, meet museum education staff and enjoy a glass of wine. Free education packs to accompany temporary exhibitions are usually available. You can also book your visits at these events.
Education evenings are advertised in our mail outs to schools, which are sent to History Co-ordinators at the beginning of each term.
Continuing professional development sessions
We can plan a session to meet the needs of teaching staff. This could mean focussing on the museum or galleries, or looking at a particular topic or theme. A session could include a guided tour of the galleries, history curriculum planning or ways of using the museum for other subject areas. We offer half-day, whole day or after school sessions.
We also deliver a programme for Newly Qualified Teachers to introduce them to the services available at Croydon Clocktower. This involves a visit to the Children's Library, Local Studies Library and Museum Galleries. Please contact us for more information and to book a session.
