Children's events

We run the following free drop-in events for young children during school terms:

  • Bookstart Rhymetime: Fridays 2 - 2.30pm (babies and toddlers)
  • Wiggle and Jiggle: Tuesday 11am (2-4 year olds)
  • Rock and Rhyme: Saturdays fortnightly 11am  

Reading groups

The Chatterbooks reading group meets once a month on Tuesday from 4 - 5pm.

Our adult reading group meets on the first or second Saturday of the month at 10.30am.

Homework help club

Our specially trained helpers offer young people aged 9-16 support with homework assignments. Students benefit from space to study, access to a wide selection of books, word processing and supervised internet access.

The club is free and young people can drop in as and when they please.

Hours

School term time: Monday and Wednesday 3.30 - 5.30pm, Saturday 2 - 5pm
Half-term and Easter holidays: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 2 - 5pm
Summer and Christmas holidays: Closed

Careers, training and learning advice sessions

We hold free drop-in sessions on Mondays from 10am - 12:30pm.

Talk one-to-one with a personal adviser who can provide information and advice on learning and work options and also help you with your CV.
