Children's events
We hold regular children's events during school term times. Homework help clubs
We run two free drop-in clubs:
- for children aged 9 - 11 years in the Children's Library
- for 12 to 16 year olds on Level 2
Our specially trained helpers offer support with homework assignments from specially trained helpers. Students benefit from space to study, access to a wide selection of books, supervised Internet access and word processing.
Opening hours
- school term time: Tuesday & Thursday 4 - 6pm, Saturday 2.00 - 5.00 pm
- half-term & Easter holidays: Monday to Saturday 2 - 5pm
- summer & Christmas holidays: closed
Careers, training and learning advice sessions
Free drop-in sessions take place on Level 2 on:
- Wednesday 2 - 5pm
- Thursday 10.30am to 3pm
You can talk one-to-one with a personal adviser who can provide you with information and advice on learning and work options. They can also help you with your CV.
Reading groups
There are two adult reading groups held at Central Library. One meets on the second Saturday of every month at 11 am. Please come to the Level 2 Enquiry Desk.
Another adult reading group meets on the second Wednesday in the month at 6.30 pm. Please come to the entrance hall of the Clocktower where a member of staff will meet you.
