Children's events

We run the following free drop-in events for young children during the school term:

  • Bookstart Rhymetime: Tuesdays 11 - 11.30am (babies and toddlers)
  • Wiggle and Jiggle: Thursdays 10.30 - 11am (for toddlers)
  • Storytime: Thursdays 4 - 4.30pm (for under 7's during term time only)

Homework help club

Our specially trained helpers offer young people aged 9 - 16 support with homework assignments. Students benefit from space to study, access to a wide selection of books, supervised internet access and word processing. The club is free and young people can drop in as and when they please.

Operating hours

School term time: Tuesday and Thursday 4 - 6pm, Saturday 2 - 5 pm
Half-term and Easter holidays: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 2 - 5pm
Summer and Christmas holidays: closed

Reading groups

Our family reading group meets once a month. Please contact the library for more details.

Our adult reading group usually meets on the last Tuesday of the month at 6.30pm. Forthcoming dates are:

27 May 08 - The Island, Victoria Hislop
