How to pay charges

You can pay charges

• in person at any Croydon Library
• by telephone using a debit or credit card (minimum £2)

* Children's talking books are issued free and there is no charge for visually impaired customers, those with any other disability that makes reading difficult, people who are 60 or over and the unwaged.

Overdue charges

Books, music CDs, talking books and language courses	16p per day	Up to a maximum of £5
Videos, CD-Roms and DVDs	Additional hire charge for each week or part of week	Up to a maximum of 5 hire charges

We do not charge for overdue large print books or children’s books, but please make every effort to return these items on time - someone else may be waiting for them. Overdue charges will need to be paid for adult items borrowed on a children’s ticket, if returned late to the library.

If you renew your items on time, you can avoid paying overdue charges.

Reservation charges

Periodical articles	payable on collection	£1 per item (plus 10p per A4 sheet and 15p per A3 sheet

There is no charge for reserving large print books or children’s books.

You may suggest that we buy a video or DVD for our stock using a customer feedback form. However we cannot make reservations for those items that are not in our own stock.

If you wish to be notified when a fax arrives, there is a 50p charge for the phone call on each occasion.

USB Memory Sticks

512 MB USB memory sticks available from Level 1, 2 and 3 enquiry desk in the Central Library, cost £8.
