South Norwood Leisure Centre is now open following extensive refurbishment. There are 50 new pieces of health and fitness equipment in two gym areas on the first floor, the reception area has been redesigned, and the changing rooms and pool hall have been retiled throughout. Some of the mechanical and electrical installations have been replaced to make the building more energy efficient and external landscaping work has been carried out.

Main swimming pool
The new 25 metre swimming pool has a unique ultraviolet (UV) disinfection system so that the water quality is always in perfect condition.
Teaching pool
The teaching pool is ideal for young children to learn in our ASA Swim School programme as well as experiencing the water for fun and pleasure.
The gyms
The two new gyms are fully equipped with state-of-the-art cardio vascular and resistance equipment. They are also fully air-conditioned and come complete with an integrated audio/visual system.
South Norwood - a greener route
Public transport surrounds South Norwood Leisure Centre. Whether you're coming to use the gym, have a swim, are a member of one of our clubs, or are visiting the onsite physiotherapist do it the environmental way: "Go on! Go green!"
Buses from Croydon:
130, 312, 197.
Buses can be caught from Cherry Orchard Road, East Croydon. Get off at Portland Road. 'South Norwood Leisue Centre' will normally be the destination listing on the buses.
Trams:
West Croydon - Beckenham
West Croydon - Elmers End
Get off at 'Arena'; the centre is about five minutes walk along Albert Road, into Sandown Road and then Portland Road..
Trains:
Trains from West Croydon - London (several destinations).
Trains to London - alight at Norwood Junction. The centre is about eight minutes walk along Portland Road.
Bicycles:
If you're feeling even 'greener', follow Croydon's cycle route and steer your way to us. The site has an outside bike rack - just remember to bring a lock.
