Staying Put

Staying Put is a home improvement agency that helps older, disabled and other vulnerable residents. We can provide advice and assistance to carry out repairs or adaptations to your home to help you live safer and more independently.

How we can help you

We can:

  • provide advice on applying for a disabled facilities grant
  • give advice on loans that we offer to home owners on low incomes, or benefits for repairs to their property
  • offer a private work service to help take the worry out of organising house repairs, adaptations or improvements
  • provide details of local trusted contractors
  • arrange installations of key safes (a small box to securely store a key for carers or emergency services)
  • work in partnership with social services for property related issues
  • provide advice and potential assistance with hoarding and or deep cleaning issues
  • offer advice and potential assistance with rearrangement of rooms to facilitate better access (for example, creation of micro-living environments)
  • give information on other helpful agencies and partners
  • offer assistance through our handyman and gardening services

Please note that if you're a social housing or private tenant then you should speak to your landlord about repairs to your home.
