Your application will not be registered until we receive copies of the supporting documents listed below.

Before you complete your housing application please ensure that you:

Do have the following documents ready to send to us for every person included in your application:  

  • proof of identity such as full length birth certificate, passport, Home Office documents
  • proof of address such as utility bill, bank or post office statement or pass book
  • proof of income such as DSS letter, recent payslips, Certificate of Workers Registration
  • proof of child benefit entitlement for each child showing name/s of child/ren
  • proof of pregnancy (if relevant)
  • proof that you are eligible for social housing assistance if you are subject to immigration controls (you are subject to immigration control if you require leave to enter or remain in the United Kingdom)
  • a copy of your tenancy agreement if you have a private tenancy.

NB:  Documents can be photocopied at Access Croydon

Don't complete a housing application if you are unable to provide these documents.

Completing your application

You will need the following information for every person on your application:

  • full name, address, date of birth and ethnicity 
  • National Insurance numbers (adults)
  • medical conditions that affect the type of property needed
  • name and contact details of any support or social workers who are assigned to you or your household

Saving your application

You can save your part-completed application and then go back and continue.

You will be asked to submit a password of your choice. To get back to your saved application go to the Housing application link again and open a new form then:

  • click on the 'Restore' button
  • tick the version you wish to restore
  • enter your password

You can only restore your application on the same computer where you saved it.  You can only restore your application within 3 days of saving it.

Submitting your application

When you have completed and submitted your online application, a summary will be displayed on screen. You must print and sign the Declaration, Inclusion statements and medical questionnaire (if relevant) and send or bring them to the housing register team (details below) together with copies of the supporting documents.

All information given on your application will be verified. 

When your application has been processed we will write to tell you in which band you have been placed based on the evidence you have provided.
