Fairer charging
Our charging policy has been developed from Department of Health guidance on 'fairer charging'. If you receive any of the chargeable services below, we will help you fill out a financial assessment form. This helps us work out how much you can afford to pay.
Non-residential services
Charges apply to the following non-residential services:
- home care
- live-in carers
- day care
- Croydon Careline/Telecare
- Supporting People
- sheltered housing
- special sheltered housing (personal/intimate care and laundry)
- adult placement
- community support.
Other services may be added to this list.
Residential care
If you move into a care home there will be a charge for your accommodation and care. You may be asked to pay for all or part of your care depending on the level of care you need and how much you can afford to pay. More information about paying for your stay in a care home can be found via the Paying for a care home 'see also' link.
Printed guides
You can download below three guides along with inserts providing up-to-date figures. Please note: to print a guide as a double-sided booklet, you may have to select 'flip on short edge' or 'print double sided' on your printer settings.
To request hard copies of any of these leaflets please call the Charging helpline.
