Sensory disability equipment
Blind or partially sighted
If your sight is affected, and you have difficulty with activities such as using a cooker or making a cup of tea, we may provide specialist equipment to help you. If you have difficulty with your mobility due to your sight loss, we can provide appropriate training and equipment such as a white stick.
Deaf or hard of hearing
Equipment for people whose hearing is affected includes:
- flashing light doorbells
- pager systems
- TV listening devices.
Specialist equipment shop
We offer a limited supply of equipment through our online specialist equipment shop.
You can also receive specialist help and advice as well as view this equipment and many more items at our equipment shop at the AccessAbility Centre. The centre is open on Mondays and Tuesdays between 10am and 4pm and it is best to make an appointment to avoid disappointment.
