General information for carers

Will there be a charge for services?

The person you care for will be financially assessed to determine if there will be any charge for community care services such as home or day care. This is based on their income and savings (not those of the carer).

Disability-related expenditure will be taken into account in this assessment. Carers may be charged for services they receive in their own right.

Any earned income (i.e. a wage or salary) will be completely disregarded in any assessment of charges. For advice and information, please call the Charging Helpline number given below.
