Getting rid of resaleable furniture or electrical goods
If you are disposing of furniture or electrical goods in re-usable condition, we may be able to collect them free of charge.
We refurbish goods that have been donated to us and supply them at low cost to local people.
Appliance Reuse Centre (ARC)
ARC is a charity that has been set up to provide low-cost household appliances and furniture to local people. We have a specialist workshop and skilled engineers who are able to fully refurbish donated appliances to high standards.
The Cherry Orchard Furniture Recycling and Removals Project (COFRP)
As part of our social business initiative, and working in partnership with Age Concern, we provide work experience for people with learning and other disabilities.
The joint venture offers the following goods and services:
- all kinds of used furniture
- refurbished domestic electrical appliances, cookers, fridges, washing machines etc. These are fully serviced and safety tested and come with a six-month guarantee
- delivery and installation (for a small charge).
- portable appliance testing (PAT) - electrical safety check
- house clearances
- furniture removals
- bulky household waste disposal
- free collection of donated items
All goods are offered at affordable prices, and we offer a 20% discount to customers receiving benefits.
Donations
There is great demand for good-quality used furniture and appliances and we are extremely grateful for donations. If your donation meets our needs, you will be helping us make a real difference to someone’s life.
If donations are not suitable we will explain the why we cannot accept them .
We do not charge for collection.
Easing landfill
We cannot landfill forever and, unfortunately, too many items of furniture and appliances with a useful working life are being taken to our tips or, worse still, dumped on our streets.
Your donations will make a difference to the landfill burden and to those trying to get by on limited budgets.

Showroom:
Monday - Friday: 9am - 4pm.
Thursday: late night opening till 7pm.
