Basic information about applying online

eAdmissions

Applications are made through the eAdmissions website.  (Please see Associated links:  Schools online admission).

The online application form is split into a number of steps into which you enter the details of your application. You can fill in part of the application and return later to complete your application.

Your information is saved whenever you move from one page to the next (i.e. when you click the 'Continue' button at the end of each page).

The application is divided into three steps:

  • Step 1: Child's details

  • Step 2: School details*
  • Step 3: Submit.

* Please note that if you are applying for a reception place in schools which are located in the areas of more than one LA, you will need to submit an application to each of the LAs concerned. The online arrangements for this are simple and easy to follow - you will not be required to complete the child and parent/carer details more than once.

The application will be saved but must still be formally submitted (step 3) before the closing date.

You will be asked to preview your application before submitting it. The preview contains all of the information you have entered on the various pages; this is your actual application.

You must submit the application before the closing date by accepting the declaration on the summary page. If you do not do this, you will not have made your application.

The final confirmation page is proof that your application has been fully recorded. Please make a note of your reference number. You may wish to print this page for your records.

The process will inform you if any of your preferred schools require a supplementary form.

You will be sent a confirmation email once you have submitted your completed application.

Making changes after the form has been submitted:

Your application is held in our database until the closing date for applications. Once this date has passed, the application will be processed.

At any time up to the closing date, you are free to log back into your pages and make any amendments you wish. Only the final submitted version of your application is used - previous versions will not be retained.

You must remember that once the closing date for applications has passed, you will no longer be able to submit an application or an amendment online.

What do I do with my paper application form?

If you complete an online application, please do not send a paper application.

If you are asked to complete a supplementary form, access a copy of the form online (if there is one available) or contact the school for a paper form.

What happens when the online system has closed for applications?

When the application deadline has passed, you can still log in to the online system using your username and password to view your application(s).

For secondary school applications; from 7am on 3 March 2009, you can log in to view the outcome of your application(s).  (Please note that the online results will not be available on 2 March, as incorrectly stated in the brochure).

For primary school applications; from the close of business (5pm) on 20 March 2009, you can login to view the outcome of your application(s).
