Under fives activities
Aims:
- To promote the library service to babies, toddlers and children under five and to their parents and carers.
- To promote the library as a resource for developing literacy in the early years.
Brief Description:
Activities in all libraries include regular under five drop ins, story times and baby rhyme times.
Key Learning Points:
For parents - skills and appreciation of the importance of sharing rhymes and stories for the development of literacy.
For children - perception that the library is an enjoyable environment for learning and pleasure, leading to a habit of regular library use from early age.
