Croydon Music Service
The Croydon Music Service is part of the Department for Children, Young People and Learning. We aim to:
• support and develop the work of music teachers in schools
• provide complementary opportunities for pupils to experience appropriate, quality music-making activities
• to offer the opportunity for every child to learn an instrument
• encourage and develop to the full each pupil's potential for playing, singing and creating music
• enable pupils to gain access to the wider benefits of music such as team working skills and increased self esteem
• bring different communities together to celebrate Croydon's cultural diversity through the universal language of music.
